I went to the gym yesterday (Easter, I know, anathema), and somehow I ran two miles. I have no idea how that worked out. I went hoping to just run at least half, or maybe walk up to one. But run 2?!? Completely unexpected. Maybe I'm in better shape than I thought? Dunno. Anyway, I know when you're training to run you're not supposed to go daily, but then, I have been active super a lot lately and doing stuff... I'm thinking about going again today. Maybe it will get my energy up.
I've been really depressed with my ballet class because it's far too easy. There are a few girls in the class with perfect ballerina bodies, but they aren't all that good. Don't get me wrong, they're not bad, but I always feel like I like to have some sort of competition to make me feel better about working harder, but there's no one like that in this class. And we're just doing basic combinations -- really really slowly.
Orchestra has been fun lately because we're doing Carmina Bruena with the choir. AND I get to sit in 3rd chair!! I have no idea why or how that was decided, or by whom (Marlan maybe?) didn't know he liked me that much... but I'm super excited, mostly because I always just get shoved to the back because I'm "just a student" and not a paid professional, but also because there's soli parts in the violin I section that I get to play!! yayyy! also, I've been seated higher than the senior violin major. Which is really weird. I would have expected to be on the inside of her, but apparently not. Cool. Plus, playing stuff with choir is just fun. And Carmina is an awesome piece. :)
Yesterday was Easter. Went to Calvary with Kara, saw Tracy, Jon, and Jos. Good service, but long....really long. and kinda weird for Easter Sunday - he talked about Isaac being almost-sacrificed, which, I can see how it lines up with the easter story, but at the same time it was very unusual for easter sunday for me. Also, the church is big as it is (not nearly so as those in the south, but still...) anyway, for the first 10 or so minutes, Kara and I had to stand because there was no place for us to sit.
I have officially done nothing for the last 10 minutes. Not that writing in here is "nothing" but still... it's not exactly "something."
